McDonough and Poe

In McDonough's poem "Accident Mass Ave" it shows the short story of a minor incident that happened in Boston. The incident happened to be a small car crash. Nothing major, but this little foreign lady had backed up into this man and hit his tire. The speaker of the poem thinks that he needs to act like a complete jerk and swearing at this women because that's just what people do. He realizes that instead of making a scene, that this problem can be solved with kindness. There was no need to yelling since they were both okay and both of their cars seemed to be alright.

Also, in the story, "The Cask of Amontillado" portrays Montresor shoving all of his emotions towards Fortunato. This gives him the incentive to get revenge. He says that Fortunato injures and insults him all the time. He ended up buying him alive and have no one find out. It must have been very thought out.

In both poem and story I feel that everyone is capable of doing wrong. In the story the speaker goes through with it while in the poem the speaker ends up doing the right thing and being kind.
